In anticipation of the final survey of the IHM, and only prior to the shipowner’s decision regarding ship recycling, it is necessary to develop the second part of the IHM. A ship intended for recycling shall carry out operations in the period prior to entry into the Ship Recycling Facility in such a way as to minimize the amount of cargo residues functionally produced waste. With this in view, the second part of the IHM is structured.
Once the decision for the vessel to be recycled has been taken, Part III of the Inventory should be developed before the final survey, taking into account the fact that a ship destined to be recycled shall minimize the wastes remaining on board.
