Marine Equipment Directive (MED)
The European Commission has developed the Marine Equipment Directive (MED) to certify the quality of marine equipment placed onboard European-flagged ships. The directive aim is to increase marine safety and reduce the risk of marine pollution by ensuring that marine equipment can only be installed on board ships flying the flag of an EU country, Norway, Iceland, and other flag states if it is marked with the MED mark of conformity, also known as the “wheel mark”.
Ecostart uses its extensive network developed through the maintenance of the IHM to collect the MED files from your suppliers and upload them to our online platform designed specifically for MED.
